SNACK – information day, September 20, 2006. Subjects participating in the SNACK population study were invited to a full-day of lectures on SNACK and major results from the Kungsholmen Project. The meeting was held in the County House in Kungsholmen with a participation of around 600 people. For more information and photos click here (in Swedish). Opening of Gävlegatan 16, February 22, 2006. The new locations of The House of Aging Research were celebrated in presence of the Swedish prime minister, Göran Persson, the president of the Karolinska Institutet, Harriet Wallberg-Henriksson, the vice-chancellor of the Stockholm University, Kåre Bremer, chair of the board of Äldrecentrum, Margareta Olofsson, and chair of the board of ARC, Daniel Tarschys.
Open
House, February 10, 2004. Äldrecentrum and ARC collaborated
to organize a daylong open house at The House of Aging Research
with lectures, demonstrations, and video presentations. Invitations
were sent to our financers, politicians, administrators, and persons
working with elderly people in medical and social services. The
event was very well attended with an estimated 350 participants. SNACK

seminars. Since the beginning of ARC, five press conferences
on aging research have been carried out where invited journalists
could meet with one of our senior researchers. |

Material
Brochure.
Together with Äldrecentrum, ARC has produced an information
brochure describing The House of Aging Research in both English
and Swedish. Editors: Inger Raune and Eva von Strauss. Magazine - A special issue of the magazine “Äldre I Centrum” has been devoted to the major results of the Kungsholmen Project and to describe SNACK to politicians, administrators and the general public. All participants in SNACK have received a personal copy. |
